A Flash Flood Warning is in effect until 12:45 a.m.

Impact & Risks

Flash flooding poses a significant risk to low-lying and urban areas, with potential for road closures and property damage. Tornadoes, though not confirmed, remain a possibility, and damaging winds and hail could occur, particularly south and west of New York City. Dangerous rip currents are a hazard for beachgoers. Governor Kathy Hochul has warned against driving through floodwaters, as even a foot of water can render vehicles uncontrollable. Emergency shelters are being opened in schools for those affected by flooding.
